Michigan Marriage Record Issues
Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar situation when trying to obtain older marriage records:
I've been trying to track down a marriage record for my Great-Great Grandparents. They were married in 1921 (assumed to be in Wayne County, Michigan). Wayne County has denied my request indicating that I don't have 'legal tangible interest'. While the State of Michigan Vital Records office was unable to locate any record of the marriage. I've even contacted the Archdiocese of Detroit (assuming my Great-Great Grandparents were married in the Catholic Church), but they aren't accepting these type of record requests at this time.
Has anyone experienced these same type of roadblocks and if so, were you able to successfully obtain the marriage record?
Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated!
