Books for Summer Reading Bingo

Okay Hive mind, I need help. I want to complete the summer reading Bingo challenge offered by my University and complete the whole board. I would like some recommendations for each category. I've already completed four squares of the board and have a few planned already so I will not list those prompts, but everything else is fair game. Hit me with your best.

List:

  1. Set in a school or university
  2. Set in a major city you have never visited (cities I've been to: New York, Chicago, Boston, Toronto, Helsinki, Oslo, Edinburgh, Twin Cities)
  3. An author who uses a pseudonym
  4. About a major discovery
  5. Involves an adventure in a remote location
  6. A retelling of a myth or fairytale
  7. Set in your home state or country (Ohio)
  8. A book with an animal on the cover
  9. A book with a person's name in the title
  10. A book written in the 19th century
  11. A micro-history
  12. A book of essays
  13. Published by the University of Minnesota press
  14. An alliterative title
  15. Features a job you've always been curious about (just throw them at me you guys)
  16. Features a sport or a game

I'm really excited to expand my horizons with this list so give me your best!

POST Script EDIT****

I'm loving these recommendations, keep them coming, I've had a few express interest in the prompts I have not listed so I've put them below with the books I've read for them (I also commented this on one post but figured this would be more accessible for everyone)

  1. Title starts with the first letter of your name: Silence-Shūsaku Endō

  2. An ward winner: A Canticle for Leibowitz-Walter M. Miller Jr

  3. A character(s) goes on a quest or a journey: Before the are hanged- Joe Abercombie

  4. A long read (>500 pages): Drums of Autumn- Diana Gabaldon

  5. A book where the cover is your favorite color: The tao of Pooh- Benjamin Hoff

  6. A book published in 2026: Yesteryear-Caro Claire Burke

  7. A book with a subtitle: Breath of the Dragon: Breathmarked- Shannon Lee and Fonda Lee (although think I might move this one to sport or game or about a heist or robbery since it's more martial arts based and there's some stealing that's going on)
