M30.
Had ACL/Meniscus surgery 3 years ago (almost to the day). Have always been active and running/working out. Have done several half and full marathons, plus cycling long distance since surgery. Still do tons of PT style exercises on a regular basis. Largely, no complaints and lucky for that!
So why am I posting?
I can’t help but recognize the “arthritis” type feeling I have in my knee, despite the constant PT and fitness regiment.
Anecdotally, it feels like someone is pressing their thumb on my knee at various pressures (sometimes quite hard). After a run I find myself babying it / walking gingerly for a short while.
Wondering what, if anyone else has experienced this, people do to mitigate this? Peptides? Laser therapy? Injections? Feeling moderately concerned given younger age, but also understand that the knee will almost never be the same from pre-op.
Couple notes: I do live in New England (US), so it is certainly a colder climate and I do a lot of winter/cold spring running which may affect it. I also can get rather intense with workouts and skiing/cycling/sports which I understand should be tempered.
Hope to hear thoughts and recommendations! Thank you :)
