Hi!
2004 Ducati Monster 1000 dark in the garage.
Straight to the point.
Changed my front tire, put everything back in the order it should be. Last thing was to tourqe spec the pinch bolts.
One of then snapped. Took out the other one too because it was most likely as tight as the other one bc I did the 1-2-1 method.
It was.
Paniced, went to but a screw removal kit, drilled it and took it out in its own threads.
Checked the thread, looked OK. Tiny tiny debries from the snapped one. Nothing else.
Bought bolts that where the same diameter (steel) and replaced them. They went in without a hustle, so I think the threads are OK.
Tourqed them to spec 20NM using the 1-2-1 method.
This was on the left side. On the right side, the original bolts are still OK, never snapped or overtourqed.
My question is, can I drive it like this? I am super nervouse bc this is my first bike and I wanted to rake care of it😅
Ofc I will order new oem bolts that are made for the bike.
