She was the only living being with whom I’ve formed a genuine bond in perhaps the last ten years—the only one who didn't care who I was and would just come to me. She died after being attacked by a dog; she was suffering for about three hours.
The veterinarian gave her some injections. Once we were back home, she climbed onto my bed, and while I was going to consult another vet, she fell off the bed and passed away.
She was abandoned on the street as a kitten. She was shy and didn't interact with other cats; she only had me. To make matters worse, another cat used to bully her—the only place where she felt at peace was in my room.
My only role in this life was to take care of her; she was the only thing I had.
