Ok so I pretty much know the side effects on metformin and I know to get the extended release addition. But honestly I’m just contemplating whether if I should even start metformin.

This year has been pretty rough and I’ve been more than 40-50+ days late on my period. I think I’ve only gotten my period 3 times this year and I know it’s not the worst but it gives me a lot of anxiety. I went to the doctors back in November of 2025 and she was kinda scaring me and encouraging me to actually start metformin or the pill. But I’ve heard 50/50 on it. Like will it actually help with regulating my periods? Or am I just gonna have a diarrhea problem lol.

Any advice is appreciated!!
