Hello,

Has anyone succeeded in a special rate increase for their position?

I am a firefighter on the west coast. We work minimum 72 hr weeks and all of the local departments are on 56 hr weeks. Nationwide really. The hourly rate the municipal guys make on a 56 is nearly 75% higher than our hourly rate on a 72 hour work week. Add in mandatory overtime and its a bug burden.

There is a bill (HR 759) in congress to even it out but who knows how long that will take.
