With SARS ramping up their crypto division and reportedly ordering exchanges like Luno and VALR to hand over user data, I am genuinely curious how people are handling this.

Do you even declare your crypto gains? Most people I speak to have no idea that crypto is taxable here or how to calculate it correctly. SARS can penalize you up to 150% of the tax owed if they catch you.

For those who do declare, how do you calculate it? Accountant? Spreadsheet? Just guessing?

Feels like there is a massive knowledge gap here that nobody is talking about.
