First tank size - 20/25gal or 100gal?
Hey everyone! As the title suggests I’m looking for advice on size my first tank should be. My plan is to add in Java ferns and anubias as well as some duckweed on the top along with some driftwood and rocks and let the tank sort out its perimeters; I’m going to ask a few people in the fish community near me for some filter material to help my tank as well - I’m in no rush to add the fish but eventually I’ll be adding a betta and a hillstream loach. I’m buying my tank second hand and there’s only a $20 difference in the set ups (filter -which I’m reselling as I’m getting a sponge filter - heater, lid) which is why I’m asking for advice. Would a 100gal be too overwhelming for a first timer ? Or is it all kinda the same once it’s been seasoned and stable for a few months ?
Long term plan would be to add a few more tank mates but that’s a long way down the road as I feel having the 2 fish will be more than enough to start me off, my main focus is getting plant growth and oxidizing plants !
