Got pickpocketed in Rome a few days ago and lost a bracelet worth about $3,200. I thought filing the insurance claim would be straightforward but my insurer says they need an official police report in Italian before they’ll even process anything. The problem is the police station barely spoke English, I don’t speak Italian and now I’m being told I may need to stay here another 2 weeks just to sort out paperwork and translations. Has anyone else dealt with this abroad or is my insurance company making this way harder than it needs to be?
