Mark being as strong as Thula, a Viltriumite who survived the purge makes it feel as if Viltriumite culture is pointless.

We see from Nolan’s flashbacks that even in a young elementary school age that Viltriumite are practically fighting to the death with each other and from their it gets more and more ridiculous, they’re a warrior race, who take their pride in strength over anything else. And Thula is a battle tested warrior who probably has over a thousand years of experience under her belt. Yet she’s not much stronger than a Mark who is still holding back and injured fighting against her. And Mark has maybe a year of fighting experience max, as he was pretty much brought up as a regular human until he got powers and he didn’t do a whole deal of combat training and could barely fly not even a year ago. And yet he can hang with experienced and powerful Viltriumites.

It makes everything they go through feel pointless because Mark, some guy who didn’t go through all that and lived an easy and painless life is so easily able to get on their level.

Edit: Mods I could not find the flair
