Early Summer Trip with Teens/Preteen Itinerary

Hello! We will be visiting in early summer with our 2 teens and an 11 yo. We are staying in the Financial District (best place I could find that would fit all 5 of us in an apartment size). My spouse and I have been to NYC a few times, but this is the first time we are bringing our kids. Our kids are great travelers and have traversed many major cities. We plan to take the subway most of the time. We're trying to fit in things they want to see as well as try to see something new ourselves.

Day 1: Hopefully get to hotel by 2pm at the latest

  • Take the subway (or the ferry?) over to pop into the Transit Museum
  • Walk the Brooklyn Bridge back
  • Dinner at Fraunces Tavern (or The Dead Rabbit? Wasn't sure if there were ok with kids)

Day 2: Breakfast

  • 9/11 Museum first thing
  • Get lunch and swing by Trinity Church
  • Staten Island Ferry to see Statue of Liberty from afar
  • Dinner at Lumlum or Joe Allen (any preference here?)
  • Broadway Show

Day 3: Breakfast

  • Central Park (might try to rent some bikes to ride around the park for a while)
  • Lunch and Summit One Vanderbilt
  • Walk (some of) the Highline, see Little Island
  • Dinner at Chelsea Marketplace
  • (Would it be too much to add on the tenement museum on this day?)

Day 4: Breakfast

  • Kinokuniya/Bryant Park/Library/Grand Central Station, then walk up to 5th Ave Shopping
  • Afternoon: Museum, haven't decided which. Leaning toward the Met per one teens request
  • Dinner Suggestions? Having a hard time narrowing it down!

Day 5: Breakfast, head to train station

How does that sound? Also, the older kids plan to tap in/out with Apple Pay on their phones for the subway. Should I get the 11 yo a card? Thank you so much for any input!
