In episode 4 we saw an Econowife working as a florist. I assume it was her husband's flower shop. So does this mean Economen can use their wives (or daughters) labor in their business provided of course it doesn't involve reading and they aren't paid? I can see how Gilead would tolerate stuff like that out of necessity. In one episode of the Handmaids Tale Luke posed as a driver and a female Mayday operative possed as his wife without raising eyebrows.
