Would you read a "Colonial romance with a time slip?"

Hey! so I am kind of skeptical about this topic I want to write about. I am unsure if the twist will come off as illogical or interesting. I am deciding to write a romance story between a rebellious Indian journalist and a British lieutenant assigned with the job to capture her. The time period and place is late 19th century India but theres a twist. The rebellious journalist or the girl in the story will experience a time slip in a dizzy shower and then the story will unfold in 1878AD. Reason behind doing this? I want to cut off the story just in the moment when hope for a potential relation between them will arise. I wanted the end to be like this--

Just before the time period shifts again, there will be a indication (ie. maybe a note tucked in her hand by the lieutenant) that will point that the time slip night not be a complete dream. Whats your thought on this?
