Hey I am trying to install steamOS on my Xbox ally X. I have been getting nothing but trouble with 3.8.2 and 3.8.1 only 3.8.0 main works but again when it finishes downloading im getting bootloop every time. Is there a way to remain on 3.8.0? Has anyone else figured it out ?
XAX Manufactured January 26, Bought less than a month ago, have been distro hopping but I want to install SteamOS. Anyone knows the way around it ?

I love my Xbox Ally X the form factor is perfect, with Linux it’s so good. But I need to do something about these buttons they are just so loud I can’t even play in bed my wife gonna execute me 😭 is there a way to fix this ? I can do mods just fine if needed
Hello everyone, so I am trying to use the xbox rog ally x with cachyos. I use cachy on my desktop and I love it, but on handheld there seem to be some issues.
Performance is worse than bazzite overall.
The VRR feels like it's not working properly i feel the changes n framerate like using a non VRR screen.
Using as advised (cachy Proton 11 , disabled the pre-shader on desktop mode) causes large spikes in framerate.
I don't think there is CPU boost enabled otherwise i would tell from the thermals, but something is going wrong and I don't know why.
If you are using Cachy on this device, please tell me about your experience on Xbox Rog Ally X.
Edit: I have also been using FSR4 upgrade commands, is it better to do that or use decky-framegen DLSS mod ?
Hi mates, I first tried to use SteamOS but i ended up bootlooping which was really annoying (pretty much all I tried with 3.8.(0,1,2) versions was bootlooping). Anyway I installed bazzite but I have some issues after sleep, sometimes It will not charge and I will have to fully shut down the device. and sometimes after sleep there is bad sound quality which fixes it self if I put it to sleep and open again, and sometimes it will take forever to load shaders.
I am looking for a distro hop if I can make it work, Please tell me on your experience what is the best bet? No dual booting with windows I have 0 interest in that
Hi mates, I had the OG ROG ally z1e and finally took the plunge to get the XAX, On the OG one I used to just have it at 18 watts on bazzite, very minimal fan noise and it was playing the games very efficient (more than 20-21 watts was usually getting wasted efficiency wise). What is the sweet spot TDP on this device ? so far I have been tinkering around 18-20 watts and getting some alright results, but idk if people found the sweet spot yet.
