I found this thinkpad on facebook. Ive been wanting to upgrade my laptop for a while now. I just graduated college and my old laptop barely limped accross that finish line. It only has 8 gigs of ram so if i had my 3D design software running along with the slicer it would freeze up and crash. I really would only use a new laptop for general browsing, some 3D design/slicing, and to download music for my ipod. I just want to make sure its a machine that will last me a while. Its a first generation and I talked him down to $275. Good deal? Or should I hold off?

So I found this nice little butchers block under the stairs of a house that was being cleared out. I dont have a before picture but it was in rough shape and had some bad splits. I sanded it back to solid wood and made some woodglue sawdust filler for the big splits, but I dont know whether I should be concerned about these small ones. I didnt fill them because I thought if I oiled it using mineral oil the wood would swell back up and they would close. That hasnt happened yet. Should I avoid using it because of the higher risk of bacteria getting trapped?
