What is your view of friendship flag badges/pins?

I’m posting from the UK. I’ve never been to Canada (though I’d love to visit one day!), but I’ve recently started wearing a "friendship" lapel pin with both the Union Jack and the Maple Leaf.
To be honest, I wear it as a small gesture of solidarity. Given the headlines lately about tariffs, 51st state comments, and threats to Canadian sovereignty, I wanted to show that folks over here are paying attention and standing with you. For me, it’s a way to represent the long-standing bond between our two countries while acknowledging the pressure Canada is under right now.
I’m curious to know what Canadians think when they see someone (especially a non-Canadian) wearing one? Does it come across as a genuine gesture of support, or does it just look like a typical tourist souvenir? I’d love to hear your general thoughts! Sorry if this is a weird or silly question 😅
