I read a consent form that indicated a procedure could be recorded and televised, although the facility assured me that they didn't actually either record or televise. Is this common in outpatient settings? What about in your own practice?

Is there a regulatory reason that requires it? I'd imagine most people don't read the consent forms and that this language is essentially boilerplate, but it seems... overly broad? Creating concerns and friction that wouldn't truly arise in the course of normal practice.
