There are some gaps/ holes, I don't understand why.

I just started knitting and already know how to make basic patterns, but I still don't feel ready to use proper, expensive wool yet.

I live in Portugal and have already searched on Amazon, but there are so many options that I don't know how to pick the right one for me.

Can anyone help, please?
