Traveler knows everything about Paimon?
"Until I met you two months ago"
They were already traveling for two months before the game starts. So I'm 85% sure the traveler already asked her about what Paimon is and where she came from and now purposefully covers it up with jokes.
They probably asked immediately after they fished her out.
Also the traveler isn't one to tell their situation to everyone. Not in full detail anyway. The game starts with them telling Paimon the story and imo they only did so after Paimon told hers.
