I recently discovered what the L stands for in many MOSFET names. Logic level. so I can fully switch it on with 5v or even 3.3v. which is great because you don't need an extra transistor circuit to switch it on. but what is the downside? Sure I could imagine circuits where you already work with higher voltage levels it could be useful to have MOSFETs with 10v+ drive voltage? But shouldn't logic level MOSFETs be the norm? is it because the gate capacity is larger maybe?
