I know it’s a very controversial topic in the architectural world that you should never paint the concrete of a Brutalist structure. Only ever clean / powerwash it properly.

Saw a post from WMATA that they cleaned Federal Triangle recently and it looks like they definitely painted at least parts of it. My question being, does it really matter? It does arguably make the station look cleaner and might even been easier to clean there after?
Do you think WMATA should be painting the concrete walls in its stations?
