I’m trying to understand how realistic it is to secure a Clinical Project Manager or Clinical Trial Manager role in the UK with visa sponsorship.
A bit about me: I’m currently based in Australia and holding Aus citizenship, working as an associate CPM dedicated to a global pharma company. I have global study exposure and experience working for big CROs and directly for big pharmaceutical companies.
However, I’ve noticed that I almost never see CPM/CTM profiles getting sponsored into the UK (unlike roles in IT, nursing, etc.), which makes me wonder:
Has anyone here actually secured a CPM or CTM role in the UK with sponsorship?
If yes, was it through a CRO, pharma company, or internal transfer?
What level of experience/specialisation did you have (e.g. oncology, global trials, phase 3, etc.)?
Was it a direct hire from abroad or did you already have UK/EU experience?
Any tips on what made your profile stand out?
I’m also considering to reach out my company for relocation opportunities but would like to see how likely to see job opportunities with sponsorship.
I’d really appreciate hearing real experiences (successful or unsuccessful) to understand how feasible this path is.
