Hello, broke college college student here. I’m looking to go the Banff National Park this summer however upon looking for a place to stay for 3 nights the prices are kinda insane.

My plan was to book now (May) for my stay in July but I’m realizing dates 1-2 weeks from now are significantly cheaper than if I were to book a few months in advance.

I’m wondering should just book my stay in the month of July 1-2 weeks before my arrival? Will most nice hotels be booked out during that month is it too risky?
