I am a resident of the Wheaton/Silver Spring area in MoCo. I love to go creeking, and now that the weather is warmer it’s the perfect time to do that! I was wondering if anyone in this group had any recommendations on good spots to explore local creeks. I’m familiar with the Veirs Mill Park creeks and the creek off the Anacostia River by Brookside. I do enjoy collecting rocks, fossils, ceramics, glass, etc, but mostly I just enjoy being in nature. I’ve seen several creeks as I’ve driven around, but the issue with those is that there’s nowhere to park and I don’t want to get in trouble for accidentally going on private property.
