Hi, I'm sure this has probably been touched upon here, but it's been an alarming occurrence for me. I am in Victoria for further context.

I firstly was looking to find a psychologist as I am dealing with loss, and my GP suggested I should seek out Q Psychology. The referral immediately put me off because they asked for intimate details such as "what is your assigned sex at birth", which is something I'd rather bring up during a session if it ever has to come to that, as my issues at this time do not relate to me being transgender. I ended up not signing up with Q Psychology as I did not want this information on an online register with my other legal details, seeing that I have had my legal documents changed.

But the issue has been brought up again where I got a referral for a podiatrist. Again, asked "assigned sex at birth", alongside preferred gender, pronouns, etc. Why would a podiatrist even need this information? I understand trying to make it inclusive but it seems utterly redundant and unnecessary to know what parts I was born with (not to mention it has no medical basis; you could go on about geneticists requiring your genomes but a podiatrist isn't anywhere near that field lol).

Seriously, who put this in place? It's just made me feel further alienated. Is there anything being done about this? Since it just comes across as a politically correct method of being able to identity transgender individuals and out them. I've already been discriminated against in other fields of medicine and psychology so it's really been putting me on edge and I have no one to talk to about this who understands why it feels wrong.
