I was just watching James's Horror Blu-Ray & DVD Collection livestream from two days ago (at time of posting this) and when James gets to his Hellraiser movies he mentions at 1:21:40 that he just rewatched the entire series 'for his own purposes' *pauses to look at camera* (no seriously he did exactly that!).
I love the Hellraiser-verse and can't wait for James to get to his eventual counting of them, it seems to be one of the last og horror series (to me at least) that hasn't been covered in full. I know Dead Meat is currently doing Psycho kill counts alternating weeks which makes it unlikely the channel would go from that straight into kill counting Hellraiser.
However, summer is approaching and with the success of Hot Saw Summer last year it makes sense to me at least that Dead Meat would attempt to do something similar to capitalize on HSS's hype. Something popular, or at least name recognizable, that would be fun/interesting to talk about. James has been vocal (and even mentions in the livestream) how bad the Hellraiser sequels are which make them fun discussion topics. Only the first four were kill counted and the only other sequel content was the podcast review of Hellraiser Hellworld (I'm not on the Patreon so apologies if they did something on there I'm unaware of). A recount/kill count of the series with tie in podcast reviews would be a way to capture interests, and the recent Hellraiser (2022) did alright review wise even though it bombed at the box office since it was an almost entirely stream released. Still a recent movie does again parallel Saw and whether James, Chelsea, and Gressle (sorry if I spelled it wrong) love or hate it, it would be something for them to talk about given the seeming soft reboot since Pinhead isn't there (or at least not as a man).
I love Hellraiser and I love Dead Meat so this might be all wishful thinking but I wanted to put it out there, whether to manifest it into reality or to refer to this post at a later date and say 'called it'. Still thanks for reading, and sorry if this went on to long.
