A sad day in my head

Fairly new to photography, I messed up and carelessly dropped my budget telephoto lens (I’m an idiot I know).

As I have not got this far in photography before is this still useable for the foreseeable future? Obviously by that I mean there is no visible damage (that I have found yet) on the actual camera or the lens that makes using the lens any different.

But I feel I do not have the knowledge to know what to look out for and will it be a pain with light coming through the gap if I am taking photos of low aircraft?

Is this something that is usually fixable or would it just be one of those things where I’m better off just getting another one. Any advice is appreciate
