I need help with this
Ok so I want to use the king in yellow as a patron to a character I have in mind, they become an agent of the king in yellow through the desperation to save his pregnant wife who despite the deal now remains an agent and his wife is dead. My issue is that in the more knowledgeable opinion of the people here will my idea for what I want to do with the king do it justice
I want to almost split the king in yellow in two, on being called Ester they almost defy the king. They speak to people they have dialogues and talk to their agents face to face, but they are not the face of the king. The agents believe they are and so does everyone else, but they never call themselves the king just the one who sits on the throne of Carcosa which is true but doesn’t make them the king. The real king is what appears to be a simple attendant in a yellow cloak and white pallid mask, they never speak but Ester appears to understand them. As Ester is almost a puppet of communication for the king, but she isn’t as (to me) the king has no gender or humanoid form. They pick and choose who will be their agents and what they do but never speak to any of them, they only use the visage of Ester and only two will know who the king really is. I don’t want to make a villain or good patron I want to make an almost absent god that will never speak to their agents as who are they to the king?
Sorry this was long but please give me your opinion and thoughts, I want to know if this at least in some way sounds like the king
