Before this, I reached out to Fujifilm in my country (Vietnam) to ask whether my serial number was in the affected range. They confirmed it was NOT on the list and told me everything was fine. Today, the strap lug started coming loose.
I also emailed Fujifilm Global about the affected serials. Their first response? They said no such list existed. But after I told them that Fujifilm Vietnam had already confirmed a list was in use, they walked that back — and admitted they do have a list of affected units, with the defect rate being under 3% of total cameras produced. That's not a small number.
A simple post on a website and a push notification is not enough. No one pays ~$1,400 USD for a camera that can fall apart without warning. Fujifilm, do better.
