A bit of context first: at the begining of 2023, I (male, 5'11", 25) was extremely overweight and ended up losing more than 40 kg by mid-2024, where I plateaued at around 84 kg.
After that, I kept going to the gym but never bothered to keep counting calories and stuff. A few weeks ago, I weighed myself and realized I had gone back up to almost 92 kg. That made me panicked a bit and I started eating around 2200 calories and training extra hard.
Now here’s where I could use some advice. For about two weeks, my weight stayed roughly the same (around 91–91.5 kg). I thought about lowering calories further but decided to wait it out. Then today, after weighing myself for the third time this week, I suddenly dropped to 87 kg.
Is that normal? Should I increase my calories slightly to avoid losing muscle?
(Sorry if this is common knowledege that I somehow missed)
