Hi everyone,

Looking to build my first PC - I've seen a lot of great info in this thread but hoping anyone can share feedback on components/tips for the build before I pull the trigger.

I've mostly used laptops for gaming (for the size) but seeing a lot of SFF builds over the last few years has tempted me to take the plunge. So I'm aiming to build a mid-range gaming rig. Currently using a 2021 laptop with a 3060.

Here's what I've scoped out so far in terms of parts/specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • GPU: MSI GeForce Series RTX 5070 SHADOW 2X OC 12GB (2fan 231mm long)
  • Motherboard: ASRock B650I Lightning WiFi DDR5,Socket AM5 Mini-ITX
  • RAM: G.SKILL 32GB Kit (2x16GB) Trident Z5 Neo DDR5 6000mhz
  • PSU: Corsair SF750 ATX 3.1
  • Storage: ZhiTai 2TB Ti600 M.2 SSD PCIe 4.0
  • CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L9a-AM5 37mm Low-Profile
  • Bottom Fan: Noctua NF-A12x15 PWM 12cm
  • Thermal Paste: Thermalright TF7
  • Case: Fractal Terra

Total cost in Hong Kong is ~17,000 HKD / 2200USD / 1600GBP

Will everything fit okay? Anything to consider for temperature management?
Anything I'm missing or any recommendations for subbing out for better/different parts?

I considered 5070ti and 5080s but either costs an extra +80-120% of the 5070s here in HK so not sure they're worth the extra cost for me.

RAM seems quite expensive so could downgrade and go for 2x8GB to bring the total cost down 10-15%.

Lastly, I could swap out the MSI 5070 for a longer 3fan Manli or INNO3D for basically the same price but not sure if it will do much for cooling and whether it's better to stick with the smaller GPU to manage space.

I already have a monitor and peripherals.

Thanks in advance!
