I originally posted this in r/stamps, but the conclusion there is that this is more of a space/autograph thing, so here I am!
I received the autographed stamp sheet shown above from my mother who received it from her father after he died. It has signatures from many/all of the Mercury 7 crew, and I have been struggling with what to do with it, as I am not a space guy.
Finally today I sent a pic to Steve Zarelli do a preliminary authentication to see if it is worth getting a full letter of authentication for the sheet. Here are the results:
Glenn, Carpenter, Cooper and Gilruth: likely authentic
Grissom, Schirra and Slayton: NASA Autopen machine
Shepard: secretary signature
My question to you guys:
Is this worth getting the full COA from Zarelli. It is likely $200. If the value is at or around that it dos not seem worth while.
What is an estimated value? I did do some research on a similar item, it in the case all sigs were authentic. That was about $4000, but has also been listed for a long time.
What is the best way to sell something like this? I am not into signature or collectibles, so this is all new to me.
Thanks everyone!
