Daily Review #11: Monster Ultra Blue ❄️

Daily Review #11: Monster Ultra Blue ❄️

05/12/2026

Ultra Blue has become somewhat of an elusive flavour these days. With newer editions like Ultra Blue Hawaiian, the original Ultra Blue can be difficult to find. I first saw this can at my job. My workplace randomly stocked a few cases of it one day. Blue is my favourite colour, so I love the design. It reminds me a lot of winter and icy weather. I’m a big fan of the Monster logo icicles. Very neat touch — shoutout to the artists. In terms of flavour, it’s not bad. It’s zero sugar blue raspberry. Generally speaking, I think blue raspberry is okay as a flavour profile. It’s nice from time to time, but it’s so artificial lol. Nothing will beat GHOST Sour Patch Kids for me.

Final Verdict: Ultra Blue is a decent Ultra flavour. It’s not special in my opinion, and I don’t mind that it’s less common now. Although not officially discontinued, I don’t expect to see it anytime soon.

Daily Review #10: Monster Ultra Paradise 🌴

05/11/2026

Today I’m reviewing a personal favourite. This is my favourite can from the Ultra line and one of my top Monster drinks overall. According to Monster’s website, the flavour profile is “Kiwi Lime with a hint of Cucumber”. To me it’s always tasted like a fresh green apple. More specifically, it reminds me a lot of green apple Jolly Rancher. I know C4 has a real collab with Jolly Rancher, but I’ve not had the chance to try them. I’d be interested to see how similar or different the green apple C4 tastes compared to Ultra Paradise. I’m not a huge fan of the colour green, but it does taste nice, so I’m happy with that lol.

Final Verdict: One of the top Monster Ultra flavours. Paradise is crisp and refreshing — it has a delicious green apple taste that I love revisiting. I highly recommend it. I would choose this can over White Monster.

Happy May! I’m really happy I was able to find this drink. Ultra Black is quite rare these days, so picking up the last can in stock was a surprise. Especially in Canada. I absolutely love the design of this one. It’s super sleek and cool. Sorta gothic too. It has a nice black cherry taste. Typically I’m not the biggest fan of this flavour profile, but in this case I actually liked it. It still reminds me of medicine a bit, but less than others I’ve tried. It’s a strong taste overall. I had to keep the can because it’s so awesome lol. Looks great next to Ultra White.

The third and final discontinued flavour from the Monster Reserve line. This one was my least favourite of the bunch. It’s a nice concept, so I’ll give them that. The taste was solid. Just like Orange Dreamsicle and White Pineapple, this was a full sugar drink. I’ve seen it a few times in Canada recently. I guess it’s not totally gone yet. Either way, I wouldn’t buy it again. I think peach is better without cream. I can see some people really enjoying it however.

I think this drink is hella underrated. I’m sure some people have never seen it in stores. It always seemed elusive to me, and now that it’s discontinued it will be even more rare. It was somewhat common in Canada. I used to find it at random gas stations or convenience stores. Another fallen soldier from the Monster Reserve line 💔

White Pineapple is another full sugar drink. It’s smooth and very refreshing. I like this one more than Monster’s other pineapple flavours. Ultra Golden Pineapple and Ultra Blue Hawaiian are not bad, but White Pineapple is a hidden gem. It gave me a greater appreciation for pineapple as a flavour. A nice summer drink for hot days.

This drink is beautiful. Seriously one of the best I’ve tried. Interestingly, this flavour is the one that got me hooked on energy drinks. I used to never drink Monster or Red Bull, but I was curious one day, so I bought this can from the store I work at. I absolutely loved it. I’ve always been a huge fan of creamsicles and orange cream in general. This drink hit just the right spot. It’s smooth, with a nice orange kick and a creamy aftertaste. Exactly how a creamsicle drink should taste. It’s loaded with sugar but it was a nice treat every once in a while. It makes sense that Monster owns Reign, because they have truly nailed this flavour. The Reign version is slightly better imo (also zero sugar), but this Monster can will always be nostalgic for me. Since it began my energy drink journey and it’s now discontinued, it has a special place in my heart. The new Orange Dreamsicle flavour is mid. The Reserve line deserved better 💔
