First year with a real Veg patch
Last year I container planted but got very overwhelmed when I planted too many courgettes and butternut squash and ended up with a jungle ( I genuinely did not know how long their vines grew), also most of my veggies just did not like growing in containers.
I decided to try the square foot gardening method and I've got a good rotation going with slow Vs longer growers. Things are just starting to sprout and my first lettuce is ready to be harvested.
Need to rearrange my beetroots though as a squirrel dug them up and kicked them around the first day they were planted and now they are all over the place, so much for my nearly designed rows!
Next year's upgrade will be a bigger greenhouse!
