To be clear, my pup Theo WILL eat he just refuses to eat his kibble.

Hes about 4.5yrs old, 13-14lbs, and gets lots of mental and physical exercise.

Hes obviously spoiled just like any other bichon and ofc he gets fancy foods like freeze dried raw; that is his dinner.

In the morning we give him í think it’s 1/2 or 2/3 cup blue diamond kibble (my mom buys all the food) and he used to eat it just fine until we got fancy Dr Marty’s food. Íve been trying to make him eat his breakfast (the kibble) before he gets fancy food but today he didn’t touch any of it.

We just bought a new large bag of salmon and pea kibble (í think) and it will take us about 6 months to finish it. He absolutely loves chicken so I’ll prob try chicken stock next (low-no sodium, minimal ingredients)

Does anyone have any tips?

Also he gets water added to his kibble everyday because dry hurts his teeth (we’re trying to save to afford a dental and yes ik we could get there faster if we didn’t buy the fancy food but my mom insists 😭)

Edit: Thank y’all so much for the advice I really appreciate it! This morning i tried using his kibble during training which he said “lady wth this aint worth my time” so I went to the kitchen and made my own breakfast. Then, when I came back half of his breakfast was gone! 😁 í took that as a win but didn’t do anything special for him.

Íve tried the towel wrapping method but he knew it was just kibble in it and he said naw 😭

Then later today after I got home and fed him, I put the rest of his kibble on top of the Dr Marty’s and he ate everything! Well see if this works tomorrow, I’ll try to keep y’all updated!
