I am a British citizen/K1 beneficiary who has just arrived in USA (northern California.) I have just married my US citizen fiancee last week. We are currently working on our adjustment of status packet.

I believe it is now around 260 USD to file for the work permit (I-765) along with my green card. I am reading online that most people seem to be receiving their green card before their work permit.

Is it pointless for us to file this now? Would love to hear from people with recent experiences (especially in California.)
