Background Check Question
I was extremely burnt out at my toxic job and quit without anything lined up. I gave 4 weeks notice as that’s normal in my industry. My last day is next Tuesday.
I applied to some places before quitting of course, and they ended up getting back to me during my notice period. I have an offer contingent on a background check (yay!). (Also wow I could have just waited a few more weeks but alas, hindsight is 2020).
The issue is the background check is asking whether my references are from my current position. I said yes, because they are (they’ve agreed to give me references - they get why I’m leaving/I have no concerns), but I’m worried that by the time the new employer contacts them, I’ll have already left and I’ll be giving them incorrect info as technically I no longer work there. I’m also not sure whether these references will mention this.
I don’t want to jeopardize the offer but truly am just not sure how to go about this.
