People who are returning to India from USA, a word of caution - purchase parity is a myth. People who suggest 1/3rd of your salary is going to be enough to retain same quality of life, it’s not true.

Even if you get 1cr salary per annum, you will be left with very little to save at the end of the month. The inflation and the taxes will cut into all the savings you were able to make in USA. With no additional expenses on restaurants or travel, you will end up spending 100k per month, if you have a family.

So decide wisely..coming from someone who believed in purchase parity took the plunge and came back, and now regretting for not having higher salary.
