The previous owner drilled and tapped several 3/16" holes in the trunk lid to mount a Super Bird style wing...it was hideous

Now I'm left with the punctures that have light surface rust and the edges are puckered up...

There's 28 all together..

I have a can of body matched aerosol.

Wondering if I should attempt this at home,

Drill or file out the rust, fill with fiberglass filler, sand it down and try to blend it in...

Or just find a used trunk lid, buy a pint of paint and prep, prime & spray the entire thing... I've sprayed a door, fender and hood with metallic with clear coat...it turned out sorta ok..
