Deaf tiktok seems like a cult

I'm not from an English speaking country but I always get videos from sign language interpretations (mostly ASL) ever since I joined TikTok 6 years ago.

Given the fact that English is my spoken language, there's a part of me that would love to learn english sign language, I think it'd be just another beautiful language to get to know. But more often than not, I ran into videos of people upset, calling out other people, and generally being unwelcoming and showing how someone else isn't fluent as them (even if that person has stated that they're a student) Honestly it just looks like the ruddest thing ever. I've never experienced this while learning English, or at least, wouldn't run into content like that.

Why do you think this happens? Is this mostly a TikTok thing? Is this an American thing?
