Sharing my mom’s experience with melasma treatment in Korea

Sharing my mom’s experience with melasma treatment in Korea

Hey everyone

I live in Korea and I’ve been seeing more people ask about skin treatments here, so I thought I’d share something based on a recent experience with my mom

She has been dealing with melasma for a few years now and it has honestly been a big source of stress for her

She has tried pretty much everything like oral medication creams and multiple laser treatments but she never really felt like anything made a noticeable difference

If anything she felt like it sometimes got darker after laser which made her even more frustrated

The clinic she went to is actually a place I had procedures done at before including thread lifting and liposuction

She doesn’t know that I had those done but I was personally really happy with my results so I had this idea in the back of my mind that I wanted to do something for her one day

So while she was visiting Korea I started looking into other options and found out about a treatment where they inject directly into the skin instead of using lasers for melasma

I ended up booking it for her

I couldn’t go with her because of work but after the appointment she kept telling me how nice the clinic was

She said the whole place felt very private and calm and that the staff were really kind

She also mentioned that the doctor explained everything in a very easy to understand and detailed way which made her feel comfortable

This wasn’t sponsored or anything like that

She paid around 1.5 million KRW and I’m just sharing this because she was genuinely happy with the experience

The treatment itself took about 20 minutes

Right after she had some redness and small injection marks but it calmed down within a few hours

After about 2 to 3 days it was barely noticeable

For the first few days she said her skin felt a bit dry but around day 5 she started noticing that her skin texture felt smoother

Around one to two weeks in her overall skin tone looked a bit clearer and she had this natural glow that didn’t look oily or artificial

It’s not like her melasma completely disappeared but overall her skin looks more even and healthier compared to before

I think what stood out the most is that it doesn’t look like she had something done

It just looks like her skin improved over time

I know there are a lot of mixed opinions about melasma treatments so I just wanted to share a real experience in case it helps anyone
