Limiting Screens in the Classroom, Miller Creek School District
I wanted to share this petition with any families in the Miller Creek school district. LAUSD just passed a unanimous decision to restrict screens and go back to mostly textbooks, and pen and paper in schools and I personally feel this is a phenomenal decision for our kids. I'm hoping to use some of that momentum, along with Tam Union's decision to ban cell phones in schools, to get Miller Creek to do something similar! Or at least get the ball rolling in the right direction. If you also feel that our kids should be on screens less in school, please feel free to sign the petition!
It is also worth an email to the board telling them you support a phone ban in schools, meaning locked up and not accessible during school hours. The best email to express your opinions is pubcomms@millercreeksd.org. Feel free to also tell them how you feel about 1:1 iPads and Chromebook's. If enough of us express how we feel, we’re sure to get this moving in the right direction!
