I want effortless, high volume, interesting language input with simple built in access to translations and definitions. Soon adding spaced repetition learning tools (not just word + translation flashcards - I prefer contextual learning that reinforces the senses, and coloquial uses of words/phrases). Additionally, will add obligitory AI learning assistant in the future.

See https://lingolore.app if you're interested in checking it out, or helping me in the beta process! I can test apps in return. Beta testers get lifetime free access to future premium features.

Hey all. Started an Italian language learning YouTube channel 5ish days ago. I've posted 2-3 times per day. Here are my stats at this point:

  • Average views: 346 (max 1.8k, min 141)
  • 14 shorts
  • Average stayed to watch % = 23.4
  • Average view duration = 47.5%
  • Top video has 28.1% stayed to watch, and average 17/29s watched. Posted it yesterday and it really spiked overnight but has gotten 0 views in the past hour

My ealier videos seemed low quality to me, but had better underlying stats although lower views than my more recent videos.

I see people often say that 80% is the threshold for a "good" stayed to watch percent. But in the education niche, I wonder if there is a different standard to go "viral" amongst people who are interested in the niche? I have a lot of experimentation and research to do, of course, but 50%+ stayed to watch feels out of reach?

Would a niche like this have a core audience, and stats get dragged down by YouTube trying it on people who seem less likely to care about Italian learning content?

Or are my numbers concerning? Thanks

*AI written/spoken and no human review at this point!*. Would love to get these reviewed by Italian writers/linguists in the future. But for now, I'm still picking up some vocab/grammar patterns and I've found these stories fairly engaging.

I wanted an interesting, simple way to consume Italian language content in a way that sticks. For me, bilingual audiobooks/narrations are very useful - I immediately know whether my interpretation was reasonable, and can identify the meaning of words I haven't encountered. Then, I can relisten to just the Italian audio to reinforce my learning.

I want some thoughts. Does this concept seem useful to anyone else?
