Wondering what to do in my gap year before applying this upcoming cycle again. I could do a post bacc or an internship at an orthodontist clinic. Which one looks better?

Definitely will be shadowing more. Around 250 hours of volunteering and 200 hours of shadowing, but only general. DAT 18 AA and 3.5 GPA, 3.4 sGPA. I think my best chance is to apply on the first day, the earlier the better, since I didn't last time. I have a really good personal statement and extracurriculars.

Texas resident; should I apply more broadly this time out of state?

Will be reapplying through TMDSAS soon and early since I applied late last time, but I want to ask the Dean of Admission at any of the Texas schools what to polish this upcoming cycle. I'm afraid, since they don't usually like people emailing them about what to fix, any advice?
