i have seen a couple of times young directors looking for crowdsource funding to finish their projects. i have created a microgrant program to fund anyone under 25 working on something they are passionate about.

details in the link below, for some reason I couldn't cross post that here. happy to answer any questions if needed. i'm telugu person, you can pitch your idea/situation in telugu or other language you are comfortable in.

Most grant applications are designed for people who already have resources to go through long application processes, recommendations, institutional brand names.

To avoid this and give funds directly to the student, I started a microgrant program (5k-15k) called The Lotus Fund for anyone under 25 working on something they care about in any field.

All I need to see is a 15-word pitch and a 60-sec video of you explaining what you are working on (video is to avoid AI-spam bots). If I like the idea, the money will be sent directly to the student within 1-2 weeks (upi/bank transfer/wise). No panel, no evaluation committee behind. The only thing that would be nice to know afterwards is a small update on how your project went/finished.

application link in comments.
