When we repotted our Acer tree we noticed an acorn in the soil but left it in there. A few weeks ago we noticed in the pot this shoot and carefully repotted it to its own pot, acorn attached. I'm pretty sure it is an oak, but am very curious as to what type, especially with these slightly pointed leaves and reddish colour. We live in the southwest of England.
