Got accepted as a transfer, but got a C in biology. Could I be rescinded?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently a freshman and was accepted as a Fall 2026 transfer to Boston University as a neuroscience major. When I applied, my GPA was around a 3.33–3.4, and BU already saw that I had an A- in chem and a C in calc II.
This spring, my grades are looking like:
- Algebra: B+
- Biology: C
- Orgo: A
- Orgo lab: A
- French: A
- Seminar: A
My overall semester GPA should still be around the mid-3 range, but I’m really worried because the C is in bio, which is obviously relevant to neuroscience/pre-med.
Has anyone gotten a C in a major-related class after being accepted as a transfer? Did your school rescind your offer, ask for an explanation, or just process the final transcript normally?
I’m trying to figure out whether I should contact BU proactively or just wait unless they reach out. Any advice would be appreciated.
