I’m watching The Pursuit of Jade for the second time, basically immediately after I finished the series. I’M OBSESSED! IT’S SOOO GOOD.
For this second time around, I tried to challenge myself to notice the moment when the MCs started falling for each other. In my opinion, Xie Zheng fell for Changyu in Ep 3. It’s the scene when Changyu, unbeknownst to her, honored him (the Marquis) with a spirit tablet. It was one of the first moments they could open up to each other about their parent’s death. You can see he is touched by her honoring him and being on his side without knowing. Such a vulnerable and touching moment 💕
For Fan Changyu, I think she fell for Xie Zheng when he retreives the deed to her parents house in Ep 4. Family is so important to her. Despite his injuries, he tried his best for something that meant a lot to her. In the chinese character 家、can mean a house AND the word family. I also just found out that, that character 家 is a pictograph of a pig in a house. ANYWAYS i digress.
