I was given this rose as a house warming / wedding gift from a dear friend. I planted it near my front door just about 1 year ago. Can someone help me figure out what is going on with its leaves? It looks like some kind of disease to me but I have limited exp w roses.

Im not sure what variety the rose is.

Found several of these small, black caterpillars on newly planted woolly sunflowers. Friend or foe?

In the Portland area. Im trying to build pollinators & beneficial habitat but also have lots of pest problems so its a bit of a juggling act.
